DIE INKOMMENSURABLEN Volkstheater Wien

Die Inkommensurablen—an innovative “Live Animation Cinema” adaptation of Raphaela Edelbauer’s novel—was brought to life by Nils Voges and the sputnic collective at Volkstheater Wien. Set on the eve of World War I, the production blends live theater, graphic-novel aesthetics, and digital-animation techniques to tell a fast-paced, visually rich story through the streets and salons of Vienna .

I helped the video department (Lisa Rodlauer), documenting the full creative process—from rehearsals to performance. My role included on-set documentary photography, capturing behind-the-scenes moments that reveal the layered collaboration between performers, animators, and technicians. This immersive production showcased cutting-edge media integration in theater, and it was a true honor to visually archive its dynamic journey.

“There’s so much to see … as worlds open up behind the main rehearsal room—worlds you wouldn’t normally associate with theatre.” - Bühnenmagazin
